Docs
Quickstart
About ten minutes from signing up to a sorted feed of real posts about your product.
Before you start
Have two things ready: the name developers use for your product, and a link to your public docs.
Set up your workspace
- 1
Create your account and pick a plan
Sign up from the pricing page. Starter covers one workspace, up to two tracked products, and three seats. Growth adds more tracked products, seats, and a faster refresh. - 2
Name the product you are listening for
Onboarding asks for a workspace name and a product name. Use the exact word people type when they talk about you, for example the package name rather than the legal company name. - 3
Connect your first source
Open Sources and fill in the channels you care about. You can fill several tabs and connect them in one go. See Connect sources for what each channel expects. - 4
Add your documentation
Paste your docs URL so drafts have something true to cite. Details in Add your docs. - 5
Run a sync
Press Sync on Insights. EarShots pulls recent public posts, filters out the noise and your own announcements, then sorts everything that is left. The first run takes a minute or two. - 6
Work your first post
Open anything under Questions to answer, press Draft with Ears, edit the wording, then copy the reply and open the original post to send it yourself.
Nothing you do in EarShots is visible in public until you paste a reply yourself. Drafting, approving, and assigning all stay inside your workspace.
If the first sync comes back thin
Widen the term. A term like your full company name finds almost nothing, while the package or CLI name finds real conversations. Add a second source: GitHub issues on your own repository are usually the richest starting point, and the open web picks up Dev.to, Hashnode, and blog posts.
