Launch Reactions

Tell EarShots what you are shipping and it chases that release across every listening post for as long as you are watching. Nothing goes out. Every reading links back to the original post.

Set it up

  1. 1

    Say what is shipping

From Insights, use "We are shipping" and give it a name, an optional version, and a line or two a developer would recognise. That description is what reactions get read against.
  2. 2

Set the ship date and watch window

Pick when it shipped and how many days to watch afterward. The window defaults to 7 days and can run up to 30.
  3. 3

Read reactions while the window is open

As posts come in, Jev checks whether each one is about the release and, if so, sorts it. When the window ends, the release stops being watched, but the readings stay on the panel.

The four readings

  • Praise, someone liked what shipped.
  • Complaint, something about it did not work or fell short.
  • Demand, a request for more, next.
  • Question, someone asking how it works or what it means for them.

Posts that are not about the release are left out rather than counted. They do not appear as a fifth reading in the tally, so the numbers you see are only about what shipped.

Launch Reactions is part of the Growth and Enterprise plans. It is read only: EarShots never posts, comments, or replies on your behalf here. A person reads the linked posts and decides what to do next.
